Rested and Rooted
Growing Boldly into the New Season & A Free Virtual Container Gardening Series to Kickoff 2025!
This winter, I’ve been growing in silence.
Embraced by the stillness of slowing down.
Nourished by the warmth of retreating into the comfort of home.
And energized by the promise of spring ahead.
I took three intentional months away from Substack—to rest, reflect, and be nurtured.
And now, this spring, I am ready to grow boldly.
The Beauty of Rest
Sometimes, when we take breaks, we feel like we’re falling behind—like the world is moving at full speed while we’re stuck in slow motion. But what if rest was simply rest? And every time we allowed ourselves to pause, we actually came back with more energy, revitalized, fresh, and new.
This winter, I gave myself permission not to get lost in the sauce.
To stop comparing myself to other creatives, gardeners, and writers.
Instead, I focused on the inner journey—on love, stillness, and presence.
Growth Is Happening—Even When You Can’t See It
This winter, I realized something new: I am growing every single day.
Even when I’m not actively planting seeds, growth is still happening at a micro level.
✨ My body regenerates new skin cells.
✨ My hair follicles sprout.
✨ My mind absorbs new stories.
✨ My soul deepens in connection.
So if you’ve been feeling like you’re "falling behind"—take a deep breath.
You too, are growing in silence. 🌿

Great idea to help folks get into gardening. I've thought about offering similar workshops locally. I hope it goes well and would love to read about it.
I wonder how many people think they have seasonal depression when really the issue is society not allowing us to rest when the Earth rests. I absolutely struggle with lack of sun in winter, but when I’m able to be cozy at home (work from home, sleep in, cuddle my cat) my mental health is much better.
